From living our lives online; to the proliferation of internet enabled devices in our physical environments — the ubiquity of technology in our society makes it imperative we consider the potential for harm from platforms, services, and devices, whilst ensuring we are still able to maximise the benefits of technology.
Now is the time for Aotearoa to act to provide frameworks, guidelines, and regulations to protect citizens, consumers and users of digital content and services. Responsive and effective regulatory frameworks are a global imperative to create a safe environment for continued innovation by the technology industry.
