Please join me online this afternoon for Digital Nation 2023, Shaping our tomorrow, today. I’ll be joined by AgriTechNZ’s Brendan O’Connell, FinTechNZ’s Jason Roberts, AI Forum’s Madeline Newman, BlockchainNZ’s Alison Mackie and Google’s Paul Dearlove. We’re exploring the next steps in building a digital nation together and will also be hosting the Hon Ginny Andersen. The Minister will help us launch our 11th national Techweek.
Techweek23 has begun and is running until 20 May. There’s hundreds of events running throughout Aotearoa, both online and in person. It’s not too late to register for an event, so check out what’s on offer this year and finalise your schedule now.
Last week, despite the wild weather, we hosted hundreds of guests at the Tomorrow Expo and Friday’s Tech23. It was great to see so many students actively engaged, meeting leading tech companies, asking questions and exploring tech careers. Yes, there were robots, AR/VR, games and electric cars. But ultimately, Tech23 was an opportunity for students to imagine their future tech career, because there’s a tech job to suit everyone. We know there’s more to working in tech than just coding and it’s important to inspire future innovators with first hand experiences like this. Thank you to everyone involved for making our runway into Techweek23 so successful.
Enjoy Techweek23 and don’t forget to tag @TechweekNZ and #Techweek23 in your social posts please.
