An Emissions Reduction Technology Roadmap for Aotearoa

Join the sustainability discussion and help Aotearoa New Zealand achieve its goals for a climate resilient future.  Technology plays an important role in emissions reduction including agriculture, construction, energy, transport and waste management.  

During last year’s consultation on Aotearoa’s Emission Reduction Plan (ERP), NZTech recommended the inclusion of a Technology Roadmap.  International evidence clearly shows the importance of Technology Roadmaps as a tool to help reduce emissions.  New Zealand has a pivotal opportunity to help make a difference.  

Join the conversation on the importance of including technology in our ERP.  Hear from NZTech’s team leading the work and its progress.  We’ll also discuss international examples and share local insights.   Plus,  learn how a Technology Roadmap will support innovation and guide collaboration across sectors and agencies.

Graeme Muller - CEO - NZTech
Graeme is passionate about the impact that technology can make to society and the economy. He is leading the NZTech Group, a collective of 15 tech associations with over 1600 members who jointly employ more than 10% of the New Zealand workforce. Having seen multiple tech and sustainability working groups developing across multiple sectors Graeme is leading a charge to ensure the New Zealand Emissions Reduction Plan includes technology opportunities.
Mark Thomas - Founder and CEO - Serviceworks
Mark is an entrepreneur and smart cities expert. He specialises in smart city development focusing on urban mobility, city digitisation strategy and new technology utilisation. He’s passionate about using technology to better address urban climate challenges, build greater economic opportunities and boost citizen engagement. He is a regular international speaker and media commentator on these issues. Mark is leading the NZTech working group on the development of a Technology Roadmap for the Emissions Reduction Plan.
Mitchell Pham - Chair - NZTech
Mitchell is a serial entrepreneur, senior executive, board director and strategic advisor with expertise in digital transformation, new innovation and technology ventures. As Chair of NZTech Mitchell has founded the Sustainability Sub-board for the NZTech Group bringing together various tech groups focused on the opportunity for and role of the technology as an enabler for environmental sustainability.
