Hi Readers,
If you emailed me recently, I apologise if I haven’t replied. My only excuse is that I turned off my phone and had a couple of weeks away, returning to a few hundred messages. Despite living in technology filled world, there is nothing quite like a digital holiday to cleanse the mind. While a full inbox could appear stressful, I am working with the theory that if it is important you will write to me again!
Reinvigorated from my holiday, there are exciting things happening this week. The launch of the latest TIN100 report on Tuesday night should reveal yet more growth from the tech sector. On Wednesday, I am in Christchurch at the NZTech and regional EDA quarterly meeting to help bring alignment around tech initiatives throughout New Zealand. In the evening, I will be in Wellington at the AI Forum’s Connect Event “AI – what should NZ be doing about it?”.
On Thursday morning, I will debate the impact of digital transformation with TVNZ journalist Andrea Vance at the Intergen Convergence conference. Then, I join MBIE for the Digital Skills Forum meeting where we are looking into the key focus areas for 2018.
Finally, on Friday, I will spend the day at Castaways Resort south of Auckland at the New Frontiers Showcase Day where we welcome the first cohort of entrepreneurs and investors selected into the Edmund Hillary Fellowship.
That’s my week at a glance! Also on this week is the Precision Ag Conference, the China New Zealand Hi-Tech Summit and the ITP Great AI Debate, something for everyone.
All the best.
