Over 200 tech events next week

Next Monday, Techweek2020 kicks off and I seriously can’t wait! It’s amazing, to see thousands of people connecting across hundreds of events about tech and innovation. There is something for everyone and this year its digital, which makes it even easier to attend events. No matter where you live, everyone has the opportunity to attend Techweek2020.

For me, Techweek2020 is a celebration and an important reminder of why the NZTech team strives for a more prosperous New Zealand underpinned by technology.

Next week, the Re-Imagine the Digital Economy is Economy is my ‘must attend’ event series.”. Three events will bring world leaders into conversations on Digital Trade, Technology and Food Security, and Green and Sustainable FinTech. Speakers include Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Fintech Office for the Singapore Monetary Authority, Bradley Busetto, Director UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development and Claudia Roessler, Microsoft’s Global Head of Agriculture.

Another event I’m particularly interested in is The Next Normal, an action focused discussion for senior tech executives to accelerate post-COVID change. Please register to join IBM’s Doug Robinson, BNZ’s Paul Littlefair, Centreport’s Jason Sadler and IDC’s Country Manager, Louise Francis as they discuss new customer experiences, business continuity plans and managing cyber risk with remote workforces.

There are also events for firms raising capital like NZTE’s InvestEd series, Movac’s Global Advisor Series and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), Silicon Valley Bank and Partners for Growth – alternative sources of capital session. Students can be inspired by She can code, Code Avengers live, and Pathways to Tech. Plus, events for women in tech like ANZ’s Future Technology and Women, Groundswell in Tauranga’s Women in Innovation panel and a virtual fireside chat with Arlan Hamilton.
